CSA Classroom #49 Empty
PostSubject: CSA Classroom #49   CSA Classroom #49 EmptyThu Aug 11, 2016 4:36 pm

Hmph, thought I'd open up the Classroom since the academies restart. Quick lesson(w/ Decklists) for you guys to try out, Kind of an older post I originally did but has since been updated and revamped.

Alrighty lets get straight to it! here is a deck that is the most dominating deck in this format's Yugioh, very easy to learn so I have no doubt you will see and improve once we get past the basics. Monarch's Domain version Now this deck is very common in competition so make sure to understand that. http://prntscr.com/bg7ze1 (<-- Decklist, its fully tested so you can just straight use all the decks that are being posted, secondly you can also use the main cards as a engine and add your own personal flow) here are some main combinations of this deck here's what you will need! (Edea the heavenly squire + Eidios the underworld squire + erebus and/or ether monarchs) we will go through both combinations. now here we go read carefully (normal summon Edea the heavenly squire then use her effect:" If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 monster with 800 ATK and 1000 DEF from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Edea the Heavenly Squire", also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn." to Special Summon Edios from your deck. once done Eidos's effect activates: If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: During your Main Phase this turn, you can Tribute Summon 1 monster, in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) so now you have this you can make the choice to normal   Erebus, The Underworld Monarch   or Ether, The Heavenly Monarch with both monsters you have to send 2 monarch Spells or traps to the grave to use their better effect, ALWAYS Send 1 The Prime Monarch and any other Spell. by doing so you have got prime to the grave primes effect: If this card is in your Graveyard: You can banish 1 other "Monarch" Spell/Trap Card from your Graveyard; Special Summon this card in Defense Position as a Normal Monster (Fairy-Type/LIGHT/Level 5/ATK 1000/DEF 2400). (This card is NOT treated as a Trap Card.) You can only use this effect of "The Prime Monarch" once per turn. now you can Special summon 1 free token any turn letting your tribute summons become easier. Now back to the monarchs when you use Erebus, The Shadow Monarch effect to send 2 S/T you can then do this shuffle 1 card from your opponent's hand (at random), Graveyard, or their side of the field into the Deck.    pretty good, forEther, The Heavenly Monarch you gain this effect: Special Summon 1 monster with 2400 or more ATK and 1000 DEF from your Deck, but return it to the hand during the End Phase. the monster you special summon would be Kuraz, The Light monarch his effect : When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target up to 2 cards on the field; destroy those targets, and if you do, each player can draw 1 card for each of the cards they controlled that was destroyed by this effect. This card cannot attack during the turn it is Normal or Special Summoned.   you dont want to destroy your opponents cards unless you either have too to win the game or gain early advantage. you mostly want to destroy either Kuraz and a spell called Return of the monarchs or Return of the monarchs and domain of the monarchs and that is the power play(at least one of, this post is huge right now so Ill need to post more about it in a different thread, possibly another lesson).

Now lets try a deck that's lower in tier but not in power, this deck dominated the December 2014 -January 2015 format, Qliphort!
with this deck its similar to monarch, you want to get off your tribute summoning and pendulum summoning, what makes it different is you always want to have a very strong back row card to use. Lets get straight too it. http://prntscr.com/bg8asl ( <-- once again decklist fully tested) there are to many combinations with this deck to go over unless I make a separate post, I will tell you a few things about this deck, when Qliphort monsters such as
Qliphort Carrier get tributed you can return 1 monster from the field to the hand, its like its twin counterpart Qliphort Helix effect: If this card is Tributed: You can target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; destroy it., you can do this with multiple copies multiple times. The most important card is Qliphort Scout Once per turn: You can pay 800 LP; add 1 "Qli" card from your Deck to your hand, except "Qliphort Scout". which means you can add any qli card, spell/trap/monster by just 800 life points. All the qli have a special built-in effect(s): You cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Qli" monsters. This effect cannot be negated. (the Scale effect, active when a qli is placed in scale) and: You can Normal Summon this card without Tributing. If this card is Normal Summoned without tributing, or is Special Summoned, its Level becomes 4 and its original ATK becomes 1800. If this card is Normal Summoned/Set, it is unaffected by activated effects from any monster whose original Level/Rank is lower than this card's current Level. Qliphort use cards such as Rivalry of the warlords, Lose 1 turn, Solemn strike.

and finally a Low tier deck. Ive used this deck myself plenty of times and I can say for all those meta haters it keeps up with meta very well.
Introducing: http://prntscr.com/bg8lvg (<--- perfectly tested) Main theme of the Volcanic deck is too draw from the deck, build card advantage and control your opponent. Last ditch push combinations you will need ( Blaze accelerated reload + Scattershot) Blaze can send scatter from hand, or banish itself from grave to send scatter from deck to grave, the effect:
If this card is sent to the Graveyard: Inflict 500 damage to your opponent. If this card is sent to the Graveyard by the effect of a "Blaze Accelerator" card: You can send 2 "Volcanic Scattershots" from your hand and/or Deck to the Graveyard; destroy all monsters your opponent controls. volcanic run alot of traps that stay on the field even after use, to solve this problem Magic Planter:Send 1 face-up Continuous Trap Card you control to the Graveyard; draw 2 cards.   to solve your scattershot in grave problem, introducing, Royal Firestorm Gaurds:If this card is Normal Summoned: Target 4 Pyro-Type monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle all 4 into the Deck, then draw 2 cards. your deck also uses Volcanic shell :Once per turn: You can pay 500 Life Points; add 1 "Volcanic Shell" from your Deck to your hand. This card must be in the Graveyard to activate and to resolve this effect. you can keep your scattershot in hand, send shell instead then pay 500 to add another copy from deck, thus reducing your deck and keeping it small for your better cards to be drawn, finally the main card that sets this all up   Blaze accelerator reload :This card's name becomes "Tri-Blaze Accelerator" while in the Spell & Trap Zone. During either player's Main Phase: You can send 1 "Volcanic" card from your hand to the Graveyard, and if you do, DRAW 1 CARD. You can only use this effect of "Blaze Accelerator Reload" once per turn. During either player's Main Phase: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; send 1 "Volcanic" card from your Deck to the Graveyard.

Lesson over.

Shouldn't it be more like a Lesson in Dueling, rather then a Classroom?

Classroom is less of a literal statement and more of a allusion towards lessons. Also Zane why the MST's in the Qli deck and not Twister? I'm assuming it is running of the demise engine which means dead draws are a thing with the "no special summon this turn" coming up.

On the volcanics.... Well they can be turned into a very efficient burn/control deck with some editing to your build but mostly they like discarding so the swap between MST and Twister is kinda needed.... And Volcanic counter is a good card to add if you were to go the burn route. I'll stop nitpicking. Ran Volcanics during the reign of qli as a mostly burn deck and they destroyed.
